Apple’s first France store to open November 7th – reports

While Apple has yet to make it official, multiple reports are saying that the electronics maker plans to cut the ribbon on its first French retail shop -- a flagship location located beside the historic Louvre museum in Paris-- on November 7.

Google says its navigation will come to iPhone, if Apple approves

Google on Wednesday revealed a free online navigation service that will be a part of its forthcoming Android 2.0 mobile operating system. It could also come to the iPhone, the company said, if given the green light by Apple.

Drawing on the archives of Historic Map Works, the world’s largest online collection of geo-coded historic maps, Historic Earth allows you to virtually travel back through time in many U.S. cities and states. Geo-coding allows the maps to closely overlay a modern map, so that the same locations can be compared in various periods.

Launching with 32,000 high-resolution maps covering several cities and states (including NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Maine, and most of the Midwest) the collection will be expanding to 130,000 soon after launch ...
