$99 iPhone 3GS to compete with the ‘Droid’

It's true, well maybe, well probably not….
We have been hearing rumours here at TiG HQ that AT&T may very well be unloading an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS for a paltry $99 in an attempt to compete with the Droid phones that are due to release shortly.
Could Apple be getting scared that the Droid may make a dent in their sales? or are they just going to disable the competition before they even get started? Who knows for sure. After all, this is just a rumour so please treat it that way (for now).
